Portfolio monitoring for private credit lenders

Sthavor supports Business Development Companies (BDCs), Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), lower-middle-market private credit funds and family offices with recurring portfolio monitoring and credit surveillance.

We work either as an outsourced extension of your existing process, providing financial spreading, covenant testing and credit commentary in your preferred format, or as a dedicated monitoring function using Sthavor’s own models, dashboard and watchlist memos, with every engagement structured around your portfolio, scope and reporting cadence under strict NDA and data-handling protocols.

An engagement model tailored to your team

The analysis at the core remains the same. How it integrates into your workflow is your choice.

In your system

Embedded monitoring support

Financial spreading, covenant testing and credit commentary delivered directly within your existing models, templates and reporting framework.

Built for credit teams with an established monitoring process that want to increase coverage, reduce recurring workload and retain their existing way of working.

With our system

Dedicated monitoring function

Sthavor builds and operates the monitoring framework around your portfolio — combining financial spreading, covenant testing, early-warning surveillance, credit commentary and watchlist escalation through our own models, dashboard and reporting framework.

Designed for lenders that want a complete monitoring capability without building the infrastructure in-house.

Embedded monitoring support

Your template, filled in

The same figure arrives three different ways. Our analysts turn it into one clean line in your template, then test the covenants.

Embedded monitoring support

Commentary in your format

With a written credit commentary, in the format your team already uses. Your process, with more capacity.

Dedicated monitoring function

Our workbook, every covenant tested

We run monitoring end to end on Sthavor’s own system, starting with the monitoring workbook.

Dedicated monitoring function

A portfolio dashboard with early warning

Every borrower in one view, with early-warning ratings and the trend behind each. Hover the charts to inspect any quarter.

Dedicated monitoring function

Watchlist memos with written judgement

For borrowers that need attention: what moved, how the covenants stand and what to watch next quarter.

Start with a bounded scope. Expand only after the work is seen.

  1. Scope

We start by understanding your portfolio, current monitoring process, reporting requirements and internal workflow.

Together, we define the borrower coverage, analytical depth, reporting cadence and whether an Embedded or Dedicated model is the better fit.

  2. Proposal

We translate the agreed scope into a clearly defined engagement structure covering deliverables, responsibilities, turnaround expectations, reporting frequency and pricing.

  3. Pilot

We run a complete monitoring cycle on a selected group of borrowers at no cost and with no commitment to proceed.

This gives your team the opportunity to assess the quality of the analysis, usability of the outputs and fit with your workflow before making any decision.

  4. After the pilot: Your go / no-go

    Implementation

Only once you are satisfied with the pilot do we move to rollout.

The agreed monitoring framework is then implemented across the portfolio, with reporting cycles, responsibilities, escalation protocols and delivery standards formalised for ongoing execution.
